EXCERPTS:
Hoverboard
Whoever came up with the idea for the hoverboard is a genius. Normally, I’m not a fan of pink, but I make an exception in this case. Back to the Future 2 gave us so many things—self-drying jackets, power laces, dust-repellent paper, and grandpa Biff, but the Mattel hoverboard is still the greatest thing to come out of Future Hill Valley. Just remember: hoverboards don’t work on water!
Colonial Viper
Go ahead and feast your eyes on the original Colonial Viper Mark I from Battlestar Galactica. A classic in every sense of the word, and hands-down one of the coolest space crafts ever designed, the Viper is the true defender—not only of the Battlestar Galactica, but of the entire human race! You want to kick some Cylon butt, this is how you do it. I haven’t built the launch tube yet, but as soon as I do, I’m taking this puppy out for a spin around the galaxy.
Goonies Map Poster
Are you up for an epic adventure that leads unimaginable riches? No, I’m not talking about Halliday’s Easter Egg. No one’s ever gonna find that thing. This right here is the map to One-Eyed Willy’s hidden treasure from The Goonies. Mikey and his buddies find it in his attic by accident and use the clues within to find an ancient pirate treasure, hidden inside a network of caves and protected by all kinds of deadly booby traps. Nothing stops our heroes, though. You know why? Because Goonies never say die.
EVA Pod
The EVA Pod from 2001: A Space Odyssey, possibly the greatest film ever made by possibly the greatest director ever... the one and only, Stanley Kubrick. These Extravehicular Activity Pods are used to perform maintenance tasks outside the Discovery One spacecraft on its way to Jupiter. In the movie, though, something really major happens inside an EVA Pod that sets the movie careening into terrifying, uncharted territory. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but if you haven’t watched it, seriously what are you doing with your life? Go watch it. Like right now!
